Program Description
The Human Resource Development Program (HRDP) was initiated in 2006, in recognition of the corporate leadership and the specialist roles that HR managers are required to fulfil.

Each year HRDP recruits the best talent from premier Indian Business Schools and TATA Group companies, based on their performance, interest and capabilities, and then trains them for a year with rotations through sub-functions such as Recruitment and Sourcing, PMS, Training and Development, Employee Relations, Community Development, etc.

The program ensures accelerated long-term growth through customised as well as certified training and development during this period. Five batches and 17 managers have been successfully placed into the different group companies.

Features of the HRDP

  • All HRDP managers are selected by Senior HR & Business executives in the Tata group after undergoing a rigorous 3 stage process of filtering, post which they are placed on a project-basis in one of the Group Companies for a 3 month period.
  • Managers are provided an exposure in 3 projects in core HR functions with different TATA Group companies. Apart from this they also undergo a 4th stint which is the Community Development stint, where they work with the TATA Trust on assignments in the domain of CSR for 8 weeks.
  • Managers are then placed with a TATA company on a full-time basis after completion of these four rotational projects.
